Thousands of years ago, receding glaciers formed the Great Lakes and created Michigan’s iconic peninsulas.  Now, Michigan boasts 3,288 linear miles (5292 km) of shoreline and plays host to the Great Lakes which hold approximately 20% of the planet’s freshwater.  There are endless outdoor activities and cultural adventures to be had.  Fall is an exceptional time to visit the Tunnel of Trees, or a local orchard.
