Nestled in ‘Automation Alley,’ it’s the home to the largest sports stadium in the US, and it’s the site of the 9th International Conference on Driver Distraction and Inattention.
Although geographically small, the City of Ann Arbor is known for its globally-inspired cultural offerings and an abundance of opportunities to enjoy arts and culture. The Michigan Union, which originally opened its doors to students in 1919, is one of the oldest buildings on campus featuring ballrooms, large and small. It is also the host facility for DDI2024. Recent renovations, including the latest in audio/visual technology and services, balance the historic charm of the facility with energy efficient changes. The remodeling also uncovered original slate and terrazzo floors throughout, in addition to limestone doorways that had been covered for decades.
Ann Arbor also is a 30-minute drive from the City of Detroit. Detroit is considered the home of the automotive industry and is undergoing a renaissance of culture, education, the arts and employment.
Guests may enjoy organized and self guided excursions that include a host of local museums, a tour of Michigan Stadium, discounted admission to the Henry Ford, and several tourist destinations within a few hours drive.
DDI2024 follows the eight highly successful DDI Conferences held previously in Gothenburg, Sweden (2009, 2011, 2013, 2018, 2022), Sydney, Australia (2015), Paris, France (2017), and online (in 2021).
Previous conferences have played host to about 125 to 150 attendees from around the globe. DDI2024 expects to attract a similarly sized global audience with the addition of several academic, research and industry leaders from the US.
