Instructions for Oral presenters in DDI sessions

The 9th International Conference on Driver Distraction and Inattention (DDI2024) in Ann Arbor, Michigan, US, October 22-24, 2024.

Below is some information and relevant instructions regarding your presentation at DDI2024.

Oral presentations are given 20 minutes in total, including time for questions. The guideline is 15-minute presentations and 5 minutes of questions. Please make sure to prepare your presentation accordingly.

Presenting authors are expected to register to the conference no later than September 1st, 2024, which also is the Early Bird deadline. If you have not yet registered, please visit the DDI2024 Registration page to do so.

The preliminary program is now also available on the DDI2024 website.

Presentation file
You will need to provide your presentation to us in advance of the conference, no later than October 14. Please upload your file here. Please only use characters from the English alphabet and refrain from using any unusual symbols. Name your presentation starting with the session number and name and then your last name. eg. “1.1 Driver Monitoring I – Smith.pptx”. If possible, try to embed videos into your presentation file. If this is not possible, make sure your presentation file and linked files are in the same folder.

Computers, tools and technical assistance
There will be technician support available at the venue if you need help. You will not be able to use your own computer for the presentations. In order to avoid any problems with your presentation, please make sure that your presentation is well prepared and fulfils the requirements below. As noted above, you will be required to send/upload your presentation file in advance. We will let you know the details for the upload in due time. When presenting, you will be able to see your presentation in ”presenter mode”. There will be a laser pointer/slide-shifter connected to the computer for you to use.

Software specifics
PC: Includes Microsoft Office 365.
The following file formats are supported: *.ppt *.pps *.pptx *.ppsx *.pdf *.

The session chair
The session chair will moderate the session, including introducing each presenter, keeping the time by using time cards and handling questions.

Recordings
We will record all presentations during the conference and make the recordings available to the conference attendees (registered) until December 31st, 2024. Please contact us if you have any concerns about this.

Conference proceedings
The presentations, along with the abstract PDFs, will be shared in the online proceedings and uploaded to the website ddi2024.org.

Projector format
The standard format of the projectors in the conference rooms will be 16:9 (wide screen). The default slide size in PowerPoint 2016 is widescreen (16:9). For earlier versions of PowerPoint it might be necessary to manually change this. Change the slide size from standard (4:3) to widescreen (16:9).
